How to use face masks correctly.

How often should you use face masks?

Masks are additional care products. Therefore, as a rule, they are applied 1-2 times a week after deep cleansing. But sometimes you need to dissolve skin problem and need to use face mask by course. For example, with severe dehydration, apply moisturizing masks every day for a week, and then 2 times a week. This approach restores the skin as quickly as possible.

Face masks also can be express care products. For example, there are especially stressful situations for the skin, let’s say, your skin on a plane can be a serious problem. During flights in aircraft, the skin terribly loses moisture. Therefore, the mask should be done the day before, during and immediately after the plane to protect the skin from dehydration.

There are no strict limitations and specific application patterns for all masks. But using masks daily on an ongoing basis is not worth it. Still, this is a product for additional care. Be sure to read the label and see what the manufacturer recommends for your specific mask. 

The frequency of applying face masks also depends on your skin type.

For dry skin hydrating masks work the best. If you have dry skin, you can use a gentle and hydrating face mask almost 3-4 times a week. If you have oily and acne-prone skin, charcoal and clay masks are the best options for you. It is best to use them 1-2 times a week. If you have sensitive skin, you should be extra careful with face masks and ingredients. Avoid any face mask that contains artificial fragrance.


What time is better to apply mask?


Peeling, cleansing, exfoliating masks, masks with acids should be done before sleep. They remove the upper layer of dead cells from the skin surface and the skin becomes more vulnerable to environmental influences. It takes time to restore the protective layer during the night.

Intense, nourishing, regenerating and regenerating masks are also best applied before night or sleeping masks - overnight. During the rest, the skin will take maximum of benefits from such masks.

Apply moisturizing, refreshing, antioxidant, lightweight gel masks and patches in the morning or afternoon. They tone, improve complexion and relieve swelling after sleep. Any soothing and calming masks you can use when they are needed.

Please, use common sense. The main thing - do not go out in the sun without SPF after exfoliating and deeply cleansing masks. And do not go out in the cold right after the gel masks. For the rest - look at the condition of the skin.

How to apply and wash off the mask?

Apply masks only to clean skin. Remove makeup, wash as usual and rinse with lukewarm water (not hot!) to keep the pores open. After this apply toner with cotton pad. Then proceed to applying the mask.
It is a good idea to exfoliate your skin before you apply the face mask. It will remove the dead skin cells. Then the active ingredients from the mask will penetrate the skin better, deeper and faster.
Apply the mask along the massage lines. You can use spatula, brush or your fingertips for that. Avoid going too close to your eyes or mouth, but don’t forget your neck!
 How long should you leave a face mask on your skin?

As a rule, masks are applied for 10-30 minutes. Pay attention to the manufacturer's recommendations. If the label says rinse off after 15 minutes, you don’t need to walk with the mask for an hour it can cause irritation of the skin. If you feel any discomfort when using a mask, rinse it. Sometime people with the sensitive skin need to decrease time for any face mask twice down.

After the proper waiting time, use warm water and a washcloth to gently remove the mask.

Follow with a toner and a moisturizer.
