DIY project: anti-aging face mask after vacation time.

Everyone loves going on vacation. Vacation is the time to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. But after vacation sometime your skin is not happy! The triggers can be anything: changes in climate, your stress level, dehydrating airplanes, your diet while you away from home.
Yes, you can get dull skin even after the most amazing time on your vacation. Luckily there’s a solution: the face masks.
I just got back from my trip to Europe, and I got dehydrated, dull skin condition. I decided to use face mask treatment – 1 mask per day during 5 days.

The aims for this mask:
- this mask should hydrate skin,
- It must nourish skin
- and must have lifting/antiaging properties.
My mask contents: milk, corn starch, tomato and olive oil. Very simple! A corn starch and milk face mask contains a good amount of proteins enough to provide your skin with natural collagen that eventually makes you look younger and fresher.
Milk  has anti-bacterial, moisturizing, nourishing and antioxidant properties. It also helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots, wrinkles and blemishes, by restoring the skin's natural collagen. Read more about milk skin benefits

Corn starch or corn flour loaded with essential properties that help keep your skin healthy and beautiful. It contains 1) antioxidants, that help fight off free radicals that cause your skin to age prematurely, by causing wrinkles and fine lines. 2) Vitamins A and C which help delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Tomatoes contain substances that are great for your skin, such as lycopene. It is a powerful antioxidant that stimulates production of antioxidant enzymes and helps combat visible signs of fatigue while reviving dull skin.

Olive oil contains essential fatty acids that nourish the skin and eliminate dryness with ease.

We need:

- Milk (I’ve taken usual cow milk, but you can try goat milk) – 100 ml or ~1/2 cup.
- Corn starch – 1 teaspoon.
- Tomato - ~ half a tomato.
- Olive oil – 1 teaspoon.
- Optional – essential oils – 3 drops.

Instructions:
1. Gently mix the corn starch with milk.

2.  Place bowl into microwave and start to warm – 20 sec, take off, mix. Another 20 sec – take off – mix. And about 10 sec. Don’t boil! Cook until the moment when the mass thickens and becomes sticky like jelly. You can warm this mass on fire, but it takes longer time. Again, avoid to boil this mixture.

3. Make tomato puree or paste. I grinded half a tomato, you also can blend it. The skin of the tomato should stay on to do not loose the vitamins and lycopene.

4. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil into tomato puree, mix well

5. Add mixture of tomato and oil to milk/cornstarch jelly. Stir the ingredients well.

You can add in any essential oils which you like. I used 3 drops geranium essential oil, because its anti-aging properties.

6. Let’s cool this mask before use.

How to use:
Apply the mask all over your face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat your skin dry.
Do not forget the neck and décolleté apply the mask on these sites, they are also in need of care.
During the procedure turn on your favorite music, lie down on the couch and relax.

Store this mask in an air tight container and place in fridge. You should use all what you made within 4-5 days. Make sure to label your mask and DON’T keep it more than 5 days! Use every evening after cleaning your face. Take some amount by CLEAN spoon - (wash and place into boiled water). Be sure to apply moisturizer after removing the face masks.

Results:
After 5 days using this face mask my skin returned to healthy condition, and now looks more soft, smooth, and vibrant.

My conclusion: This face mask helps even out your skin tone, while also leaving it smooth and supple. This, in turn, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your skin. It firms and tightens your skin.
